Studio A Group is a full-service design collective based in Austin, Texas.  As a close team of collaborators, we share a singular goal – to bring harmony, elegance, and warmth to the spaces and places people live and work.

Our portfolio includes architectural and interior design work ranging from residential and commercial renovations, additions and select ground up projects.  Our work reaches across Texas and into the Pacific Northwest and Chicago.  Each design develops in response to its respective environment and the vision of the client.

As interior designers, we serve as curators for our clients, seeking to strike a balance among works of art, antiques, custom-made pieces and modern materials. Our work includes the selection of finishes, fixtures, furniture, textiles, and lighting, as well as designing custom millwork and cabinetry. Studio A Group sources goods from around the world, but we especially enjoy working with local artisans and makers to produce distinct and original designs.

Our architectural background sets us apart from many design practices, enhancing our understanding of the multiple layers of a project – from the conceptual through construction phase – uniquely qualifying us to work in collaboration with architects and contractors.

Ann Tucker

Ann, a native of Houston, spends much of her time at her family ranch in Eagle Lake, Texas, a place from which she draws inspiration and creative energy. She is moved by the aged, worn utility of ranch pragmatism, and by hard work.  Travel also fuels Ann’s imagination.  Having lived in Barcelona, Paris and New Orleans, the distinct personality of each city has shaped and expanded her design sensibility.

Prior to founding Studio A Group in 2007, Ann worked with Black + Vernooy Architecture + Urban Design on residential and commercial design projects, and at The Vogt Group Architects in New Orleans, where her focus was concentrated in historic preservation. Ann received both a BA in the Plan II Honors Program and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin. She has taught as an adjunct instructor in the interior design program of the University of Texas School of Architecture, and she is regularly invited to help critique student projects.

Ann lives in Austin with her husband, artist, designer and frequent collaborator Jack Sanders~ and their two children.

David Bowers

David’s expertise in building and design is matched only by his enthusiasm for helping clients realize their ideal environment.  He brings valuable architectural experience to Studio A Group; having worked in urban design, master planning, international museum/exhibit design, residential and furniture design.

David is also an accomplished craftsman. An undergraduate degree in Theatre Arts set David on the path to design. His concentration of study was in scenic design, and he has worked as a carpenter in professional scene shops in London’s West End. He built stage sets, painted backdrops and developed a talent for the detailed renderings that have become a Studio A Group signature.

David later moved to Austin and attended the University of Texas where he graduated with a Masters in Architecture.

Keora Norris

Keora balances the implementation of organizational policies for the studio with the contribution of creative and collaborative feedback on projects. Her specialty is the procurement of unique and interesting materials, with a particular interest in identifying and cultivating relationships with local artists, artisans, and craftsmen.

An Austin native, Keora draws inspiration from her background in visual design as well as travels through Europe, Asia, and the Americas, bringing back a host of cultural and artistic influences.

Previously, Keora taught photography at St. Edward’s University in Austin as well as at Laguna Gloria Art Museum. She also managed the photography department at St. Ed’s, where she graduated with a BA in Photocommunications.
