STUDIO THE GROUP COLLABORATORS
Studio A Group is a full-service design collective based in Austin, Texas. As a close team of collaborators, we share a singular goal – to bring harmony, elegance, and warmth to the spaces and places people live and work.
Our portfolio includes architectural and interior design work ranging from residential and commercial renovations, additions and select ground up projects. Our work reaches across Texas and into the Pacific Northwest and Chicago. Each design develops in response to its respective environment and the vision of the client.
As interior designers, we serve as curators for our clients, seeking to strike a balance among works of art, antiques, custom-made pieces and modern materials. Our work includes the selection of finishes, fixtures, furniture, textiles, and lighting, as well as designing custom millwork and cabinetry. Studio A Group sources goods from around the world, but we especially enjoy working with local artisans and makers to produce distinct and original designs.
Our architectural background sets us apart from many design practices, enhancing our understanding of the multiple layers of a project – from the conceptual through construction phase – uniquely qualifying us to work in collaboration with architects and contractors.
Ann Tucker
Ann, a native of Houston, spends much of her time at her family ranch in Eagle Lake, Texas, a place from which she draws inspiration and creative energy. She is moved by the aged, worn utility of ranch pragmatism, and by hard work. Travel also fuels Ann’s imagination. Having lived in Barcelona, Paris and New Orleans, the distinct personality of each city has shaped and expanded her design sensibility.
Prior to founding Studio A Group in 2013, Ann worked with Black + Vernooy Architecture + Urban Design on residential and commercial design projects, and at The Vogt Group Architects in New Orleans, where her focus was concentrated in historic preservation. Ann received both a BA in the Plan II Honors Program and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin. She has taught as an adjunct instructor in the interior design program of the University of Texas School of Architecture, and she is regularly invited to help critique student projects.
Ann lives in Austin with her husband, artist, designer and frequent collaborator Jack Sanders~ and their two children.

Maggie Goen
Maggie’s background in landscape architecture represents a shift in focus from out-of-doors to the interior environment.
A Georgia native, Maggie attended the University of Georgia, where she received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. Having worked for both small design/build and large-scale planning firms in Austin since 2006, her breadth of experience translates naturally into the work of Studio A Group.
Maggie’s design aesthetic is inspired by the natural realm, and informed by close attention to pattern, light, color and texture. She continues her education in art through painting and drawing classes, and creates original jewelry out of re-purposed elements of costume pieces and semi-precious stones.
Maggie brings a balanced and thoughtful approach to each project while keeping a spectrum of imagination and creativity throughout the design process. She understands the important influence design can have on quality of life, and her professional inspiration is constantly being rejuvenated through both local and worldly adventures.
